During its 2012 International Conference & Exposition held in Denver, Colorado, ASTD presented the Excellence in Practice Awards and Citations to 61 organizations from 11 countries: Canada, China, India, Ireland, Israel, The Netherlands, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, the United States, and Vietnam. 

The Excellence in Practice awards recognize organizations for results achieved through learning and development solutions. Out of 160 submissions, 19 awards and 63 citations were given in 10 categories: career development, diversity and inclusion, integrated talent management, learning technologies, managing change, organizational learning, performance improvement, training management, technical training, and workplace learning and development.
