(Alexandria, VA), December 11, 2024— The average organization spent $1,283 per employee on workplace learning in 2023, according to the Association for Talent Development’s 2024 State of the Industry report. That’s a $63 increase over 2022 data ($1,220).

The average number of formal learning hours used per employee was 17.4, down from 20.7 in 2022. Organizations in the finance, insurance, and real estate sectors had the highest number of learning hours used, averaging 26 hours per employee.
