Doug Kirkpatrick Joins Board of Directors for the Association for Talent Development

The Association for Talent Development (ATD), formerly ASTD, announces that Doug Kirkpatrick, organizational consultant and author, has joined the Association’s board of directors for a three year term, 2015-2017.

Mr. Kirkpatrick is the author of Beyond Empowerment: The Age of the Self-Managed Organization. He is an organizational change consultant, TEDx and keynote speaker, executive coach, writer, and educator. He began his business career in the manufacturing sector as a financial controller and administrator, principally with The Morning Star Company of Sacramento, California, a world leader in the food industry. He now engages with the Morning Star Self-Management Institute, Great Work Cultures, the Center for Innovative Cultures and other vibrant organizations and leaders to co-create the future of management.

Mr. Kirkpatrick earned degrees in economics and law, and holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) credential from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). He also served as a director for the Professional Coaches and Mentors Association, the Children’s Services Network, and the Merced County Workforce Investment Board.

He enjoys travel in rough parts of the world and appreciates the perspective he gains from it.
