During the 2014 ASTD International Conference & Exposition held in Washington, D.C., the American Society for Training & Development Certification Institute (ASTD CI) presented the CPLP Fellow Award to Darin Hartley, Vice President of Sales at Intrepid Learning Solutions, and Kimo Kippen, Chief Learning Officer at Hilton Worldwide. Both individuals were recognized for their leadership and support for the professionalization of the learning and development field and the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance® (CPLP®) credential.   

Darin Hartley serves as Vice President of Sales at Intrepid Learning, a full-service learning and development company that creates and supports technology-enabled learning solutions for large corporations. He is a long-time supporter and contributor to ASTD CI, and was responsible for setting up the overarching governance board for ASTD CI in 2001. Darin’s contributions to the CPLP certification process include serving as a board member for ASTD CI from January 2011 to December 2012, and as the board chair in 2012. During his tenure on the board he provided leadership and direction to the CPLP program, including ways to incorporate new technologies into the program.

Kimo Kippen is a widely recognized leader in the field of learning and development. Under his leadership, Hilton Worldwide University (HWU) actively and continuously promotes the CPLP program. The HWU leadership team encourages new learning professionals to make CPLP certification part of their personal/professional development plan and provides extensive support throughout the process to all who pursue the certification.
