ASTD and The Public Manager announce that Al Switzler, author of bestsellers including Crucial Conversations and Crucial Confrontations, will keynote the one-day innovation-focused Government Workforce: Learning Innovations Conference, on Wednesday, October 24, at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.
Switzler, the cofounder of VitalSmarts, will speak on creating sustainable change in government. As the country prepares for the 2012 election, change and transition are top of mind for many in the government workforce and learning professionals need tools and resources to manage that change. The Government Workforce: Learning Innovations Conference is singularly focused on providing a venue that fosters powerful, open dialogue with leading experts.
• Mission Focused Learning: Designed to provide best practices on next generation workplace learning, the conference will showcase the power collaboration and innovation have in the learning environment to help agencies meet their strategic mission outcomes.
• No Boring PowerPoint Presentations: The conference is one of the most unique, one-day events in Washington. No government employee needs another lecture. Attendees learn through interactive and collaborative sessions.
Government Workforce: Learning Innovations is designed to provide attendees with real answers to the most pressing questions about topics like budgets, transitions, strategic planning, and the realities of a multi-generational workforce.
