As processes and hierarchies continue to flatten and public sector budgets persist in red ink, the search for relevant, cost-effective training grows ever more important. Public agencies at all levels of government are subject to escalating pressure from nongovernmental sectors both domestically and internationally, as well as to public demands for an increasingly professional public service corps. Improbable as success may be, fulfilling these expectations requires capable and interconnected leaders who are able to use extensive networks and demonstrate the real value government brings to the table.
