Activate Managers as Coaches

Growing up in Wisconsin, I played American football in junior high school. The coaching staff assumed players understood the gridiron and how plays were drawn up. However, the X’s and O’s in the team playbook made little sense to me, and I struggled to find my place on the squad. It was only after one of the assistant coaches realized I was having trouble and invested in me that the playbook started to make sense.
