Digital has shattered the boundaries of industry: Retailers are bankers. Industrial equipment companies run hospitals. Telecomm players operate vending machines. And it’s redrawn the borders of employment, too. Workers aren’t housed in neatly rowed cubicles; responsibilities have grown out of their pigeonholes to become more flexible based on need instead of prescribed roles.
