Caterpillar

The article presents information on steps taken by Caterpillar Inc. to implement its new enterprise strategy. The strategy aimed to propel the company to the top position in every market and region it serves by the year 2020 and was based on an updated version of the company's worldwide code of conduct. To get the employees on board quickly, the corporate university of Caterpillar partnered with key organizational groups to deploy the new enterprise strategy with the "leaders as teachers" component. The exercise began with the CEO and five top executives teaching 600 leaders, who then taught other leaders who, in turn, taught their employees, thus cascading the learning throughout the organization.
