Do you want to try your hand at designing learning content that users can consume on any of their devices—laptops, tablets, or smartphones? Even better, do you want to get started without having to pay anything while still using a high-end tool?
If so, consider Adapt, an open-source authoring tool for responsive, multidevice e-learning—that's free to download.
When you sign in to the tool, you are directed to a dashboard, which shows the projects you're currently working on. You have the option to work individually or on group projects with team members who also use Adapt, and you can search across the portfolio of projects you create with the tool.
Within the authoring tool, you can design courses with what's called "deep-scrolling pages." Each page includes articles, which provide the headline text for your course; blocks, which provide the course's main body of information; and components, which are interactive items you can incorporate. Types of components range from options to incorporate outside media (such as images and videos) into the course to different types of quiz and test questions.
In addition to having strong features within the authoring tool itself, Adapt provides a robust community of users who can support you in mastering the tool. On Adapt's Forums page, you will find technical discussions, responsive e-learning discussions, and advertisements for projects and jobs that require applicants to have skills using Adapt.
