For some people, sharing what's on their minds and advocating for their ideas come easily. They can be sitting in a meeting and will know exactly what to say, when to say it, and how to say it. But for a large group of other people, the idea of sharing their ideas and giving presentations feels challenging. At first glance, that may sound like the difference between being an introvert and an extrovert, but in fact, it can go much deeper. Some individuals didn't learn that they should focus on those skills. Instead, they learned to keep their heads down, work hard, be humble, and listen to others.
