The article presents signs which indicate that an organization may be facing a skills gap as weighed by experts in the U.S. According to them, these signs threaten the growth and competitiveness in organizations. A skills gap is present when there is a mismatch between the skills that the organization needs and the capabilities of the workforce. It could also be because of the lack of training for employees during hard times and is struggling to catch up. Furthermore, skills gaps can also be seen when the number of highly skilled, specialized jobs needed to take the organization forward is increasing. Lastly, a high percentage of baby boomers in the workforce that are or will be leaving soon is existing.
