Global investment in learning technology companies reached a new record of $7.3 billion in 2016. In 2015, the record-breaking investment total was $6.5 billion.

According to The 2016 Global Learning Technology Investment Patterns, a 2017 report from Metaari that examines crowdsourced, seed, angel, venture capital, and private equity investing for learning technology firms, global investment in learning technology companies reached a new record of $7.3 billion in 2016. In 2015, the record-breaking investment total was $6.5 billion. Of the 695 companies that received an investment in 2016, nearly one-third sold products designed for corporate customers.
