The article focuses on the role of performance culture on the productivity of a company. In today's economic world productivity is the prime goal of any company. A study shows that the companies having better techniques for managing employee performance were 50 to 60 percent more efficient then those that do not have such good system. The benefits of employee performance management provide the mechanism to deal with the poor performing employees. Lack of such management always keep employees away from understanding how their success is measured for themselves and the organization. If a poor performer is accepted then it is considered that mediocrity is acceptable, imparting a negative influence on the productivity and morale of co-workers. The result comes in the form of low productivity level of organization and diminished credibility of managers. The remedy lies in creating a performance culture which creates a sense of employee accountability and commitment. It also presents the ideas on performance culture by leading business executives including Jack Welch, Michael Dell, James Kilts and Elisabeth Fleuriot.
