At any given time, the learning and development team at Miami Children's Health System is juggling multiple initiatives, each with its own set of objectives and challenges. Whether it's an effort to standardize job roles through clinical and nonclinical competencies across the entire organization (which comprises 800 physicians and more than 4,200 employees dispersed throughout the main hospital and 14 outpatient centers); a professional development program for high-potential employees; or an intensive training academy for nurses, the L&D team works hard to maintain MCHS's status as Florida's leading pediatric healthcare provider.
