The article focuses on the study entitled "The ASTD Competency Study: Mapping the Future" which cites the modern trends and development in workplace learning and performance (WLP) profession in the U.S. The study is designed to examine the standards and policy for the WLP practitioners. It notes that the competency model has four significant roles such as learning strategist, business partner, project manager and professional specialist. The study cites that technological advancement has played important role in deploying learning development in WLP field. It concludes that the tool is a useful resource for WLP practitioners in simplifying organizational management.
