According to Hay Group, six megatrends (defined as long-term processes of transformation on a global scale with a broad scope and dramatic impact) will demand new leadership competencies during the next two decades. The global management consulting firms Leadership 2030 research, published in the report Building the New Leader: Leadership Challenges of the Future Revealed, identified the following megatrends:
