This article reports that according to the State of the Industry Report, in 2003, technology-based delivery of learning consisted primarily of self-paced online offerings. Instructor-led delivery was live, in-classroom more than two-thirds of the time, with online or virtual classrooms being employed for 3 percent of learning among the Benchmarking Service organizations. According to ASTD's 2004 State of the Industry Report, learning via technologies has increased steadily since 1999 as classroom-based learning has decreased.
