The article underscores the difficulties being posed to employees who are promoted into management positions. It states that an increasing number of managers report facing many problems when making a complete transition into their new positions. Relative to this, a five-year study conducted by Colorado-based ConceptReserve said that 86% of 2600 managers have problems moving beyond working as individual contributors and into management roles. It is also identified that the most difficult task was transitioning from doing work to managing and delegating work.
