The article focuses on the survey conducted by Director of Employee Development MaineGeneral Health Patrice Putman regarding employee satisfaction in Augusta, Maine. The result showed that communication was a weak area within the organization. According to staff members, the culture of MaineGeneral did not address conflict effectively and employees did not always feel comfortable expressing their opinions. As a solution, Putman convinced company leadership to support an intensive training initiative with both their presence and organizational resources. According to her, training and development is a very vibrant and changing career and she has to keep on changes throughout the organization so that her department can respond.
