Employees say annual reviews lack transparency.

New research suggests that traditional annual reviews may lead to a lack of transparency in the workplace. According to The Broken Bridges of the Workplace: 2017 Employee Engagement Report, a TINYpulse study of more than 1 million survey responses, nearly four in five employees worldwide dislike their company's performance review process. Failure to mention promotions or career development was cited as the most common cause for frustration. In addition, only 26 percent of employees felt their organizations offer them adequate professional growth opportunities, and just 49 percent believe their organizations make promotion and career paths clear.
