II. Walter "Walt" Shaw, Chairman of the Publications Committee and for two and a half years editor of The Jour-nal, is one of the founding fathers of ASTD. "1 showed up at the Hotel Morrison in Chicago that first day in the fall of 1945," he recalls, "and asked, 'Where does one register?' loin Keatv who was to be elected the first president said, "Would you mind going around and getting the names of everyone here? "Walt" has been going around for ASTD ever since.
