I enjoy the opportunity to constantly interact with the new security officers who are starting their careers with G4S, because I was in a similar situation. I benefited from the tutelage of wonderful trainers, and my desire is that our corporate training team can provide similar inspiration for incoming personnel. It's inspiring to have a platform to return the favor in sharing a vision and perspective of what is possible.

Increased use of technology also has ushered in new ways for L&D practitioners to assess individual learner retention more seamlessly than in years past. Many of the developments and practices previously thought of as futuristic not too long ago are collectively being implemented and have become an integral part of the present state of L&D.

It is imperative to continue emphasizing many of the same best practices from the traditional classroom setting. For example, maintain clear expectations by outlining the agenda, and have class administrators who can monitor the class and the chats in real time for highlighting any questions posed. Keeping the class fun is another valuable best practice. I provide relevant icebreakers and discussion points for the class to take part in, and those seem to resonate well with the audience.
