Almost eight years ago, I decided to give a creative idea a go—a culinary podcast, The Coarse Grind Podcast, which I created and originated with the concept of helping tell a story that was often untold. I wanted to share the inspiration, origin, and whatever else chefs, cooks, and artisans alike wanted to pass along. As I started down that path, though, I realized something: The story was not the only things listeners were picking up. Guests were communicating about balancing acid and oil, what a chiffonade is, and other culinary matters. In short, listeners were learning in a portable, asynchronous, and convenient way. Being an instructional designer and e-learning developer by trade, let's just say I recognized those benefits and saw their value.
