The new initiative named "Structural Capital," is purposed to fill the knowledge gap by training employees to handle day-to-day plant operations. As a part of the initiative, highly qualified employees with technical skills were sent to a management institute to learn conceptual and behavioral skills. The initiative was pilot tested at one of the plants. The company also created a climate that supported the new quality paradigm.
