The article reports on a training initiative taken by Reliance Industries Ltd. to train less experienced employees to operate new plants established by the company at various locations. The new initiative named "Structural Capital," is purposed to fill the knowledge gap by training employees to handle day-to-day plant operations. As a part of the initiative, highly qualified employees with technical skills were sent to a management institute to learn conceptual and behavioral skills. The initiative was pilot tested at one of the plants. The company also created a climate that supported the new quality paradigm.
