The article cites a survey conducted by the Accountemps staffing service in the U.S. The survey indicated that entry-level accounting and finance professionals might need to find a mentor on their own. The majority of chief financial officers, 58%, polled that it is uncommon for their organizations to match new hires with mentors. It included responses from more that 1,400 chief financial officers (CFO) from a random sample of the U.S. companies with 20 or more employees. Only 13% said that the practice was very common.
