The article cites a survey concerning the training programs for frontline managers in the U.S. According to Novations, a training consultancy, organizations have devoted their training efforts to senior managers. This is because, unlike their staff members, senior executives do not need to call in sick to avoid training session, they could just opt out of it. The survey indicated that 90% of human resource and learning officials reported that frontline managers should receive the most training while senior-level executives rated the lowest. Senior managers' resistance to training reflects the prevailing sentiment in organizations that top executives require the lest amount of training.
