As part of its onboarding process, Target says it gives its team members the opportunity to be trained in other areas of the store so that they may serve as backup support during busy shopping times. The company's backup training program prepares team members to work in high-demand areas, such as the Target Drive Up and Order Pickup, and has been active for more than one year. The backup training program also addresses employee feedback, where workers expressed that they enjoy learning different aspects of the business that fall outside of their core responsibilities.
