ASTD's own Learning & Development blog is quickly becoming a big voice in a big community. The blog is curated by the Community of Practice manager, but the focus is fixed on the diverse, outspoken, and always knowledgeable voices of L&D practitioners.

One of the most prolific of these voices is Ruth Colvin Clark's, who contributes to the evidence-based training conversation. Clark has covered the research behind using graphics, animations, and games. And whether readers agree or beg to differ, she personally responds to every comment to keep the discussions lively.

Maintaining a diverse mix of guest bloggers is important because the ASTD Learning & Development Community of Practice is quite populous. Since the blog launched in early April, Jennifer Hofmann has weighed in with virtual learning techniques, Willis Thomas has shared his insight on training project management, and ASTD Essentials presenter Kathi Edwards has shared methods for building SME partnerships.

Most recently, Chopeta Lyons, a regular contributor to the ASTD Essentials workshops, has a series of posts on how to use visual design principles for enhanced learning. Meanwhile, Jenn Labin is building on the theme of her first ASTD book, Real World Training Design, by translating theory into practical tips one post at a time.
