When I first started working for global companies in 2011, I was a cliché—wide-eyed and eager to learn about all my new co-workers who were peppered around the world. But I quickly saw it wasn't as easy as it seemed. As a 31-year-old who had never traveled outside of the United States, it was hard for me to navigate the cultural nuances I experienced when dealing with my co-workers.
