The article reports on the result of a survey that shows women continue to lag behind men in the amount of coaching they receive, which is considered a crucial element needed to advance on the leadership track. The survey was conducted by Novations Group Inc., a training and consulting organization based in Boston, Massachusetts, where 3,000 human resource professionals in the U.S. were surveyed about the level of coaching their organization makes available to women. It was found that 19.9 percent of women reported not receiving the same amount of coaching as their male counterparts. However, director of consulting at Novations, Deborah Felton, explains that leadership selection process is not intentionally biased against women.
