Coaching for Their Dual Role: Helping SMEs Facilitate Learning (SU208)

Bringing subject matter experts (SMEs) into the training process can be one of the best things learning leaders can do. SMEs bring depth of experience, enterprise-wide perspective, and credibility to the learning process. But asking SMEs to perform this dual role also brings risk. While they want to do well in the classroom, it is an environment outside their expertise. In this session, we'll explore the unique needs of SMEs and examine ways to design learning programs to help them be successful. We'll also introduce new language and explore nonthreatening coaching techniques to help them deliver the content effectively.
