What do you do when your boss asks you to lead an organization development (OD) initiative? Do you have the skills to be an OD practitioner and lead this initiative, or is it a complete mystery to you? Take this course and be prepared solve the OD puzzle! Become aware of the skills needed to be an OD practitioner and create an OD implementation action plan. After this class, you will be knowledgeable enough to respond to an OD request and know when OD is needed by taking a holistic approach (distinguishing between OD and a training solution). You will be able to describe and identify OD competencies, and choose and apply the correct OD solution for you.

Organizations are rapidly changing as a result of mergers, acquisitions, consolidations, the environment, new C-suite leadership, and new technology. These changes require a holistic approach to talent development, known as organization development. Are you ready to help facilitate these changes?

This highly interactive class will help you determine the roles and skills you need to start using OD quickly. We’ll begin by reviewing a case study that will provide an overview of organization development and its benefits. The case study will allow us to explore the various roles and terms used in organization development, examine common OD requests, and begin creating an OD implementation action plan.

We will discuss how to analyze data to make recommendations and communicate results to stakeholders. Furthermore, we will explore how to select the appropriate organization development campaign and measure the success of a specific program. Along the way, you will become aware of common mistakes and pitfalls encountered during OD initiatives.

You will develop a plan to create an OD implementation in your organization. You will also become familiar with resources you use in the future. Sharing experiences between participants is highly encouraged for better learning.
