Measure the success of any talent development program using a proven evaluation methodology that includes a 5-level evaluation framework. This comprehensive and scalable methodology provides a simple, practical process, guiding principles for standardization, and a sustainable implementation strategy.

Learn the basics of evaluation design, including selecting appropriate strategies and measurement tools, collecting and analyzing data to show the value of investments, and establishing and communicating evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of your learning, development, and human resources initiatives. This evidence may include measures of how participants reacted to, learned from, and applied what they learned and how such evidence impacts targeted organization business goals.

This foundational certificate program—the only program of its kind designed to provide you with a complete understanding of how to measure learning and development programs—offers small group collaboration, application exercises, a running case study, and a toolkit of forms, templates, and other resources for use on the job. As a participant of this course, you will get two free e-books from ATD: Survey Basics and Real World Training Evaluation.

Why you should attend:

  • Develop a solid foundation to measure the success of any talent development program or solution.
  • Help your organization shift from activity-based to results-based talent development programs.
  • Provide stakeholders and leaders with a credible business case for learning investments and, ideally, increased evaluation in your organization.
  • Learn how to implement a results-based evaluation process step-by-step using the tools and templates provided in the program.
  • Earn an industry-recognized ATD certificate and digital badge.

What Our Participants Are Saying
Megan_Mills
Megan Mills

"I have already begun to use some of the tools and forms from the class, and a few of them I've shared with the management team who have benefited from using them in their areas as well. I will be attending more certificate classes offered by ATD as I know first-hand how much of a worthwhile investment it is!"

Janice_Nolan
Janice Nolan

"The most applicable course I’ve ever taken, and after only a month I’ve already begun to make changes in my organization using the techniques I learned."

JD
Julie Droegemueller

"This was the most worthwhile course I've attended. Not only was the instructor extremely helpful and knowledgeable, but I was able to take away some quick wins that I could use on day one back at work and ideas that I could incorporate into our processes for successful long term evaluation."

Things to Know

ATTENDANCE

For full-day face-to-face and live online programs, participation in all originally scheduled days of the program, including both face-to-face and live online formats, is mandatory in order to receive the certificate of completion and CEUs. Participants who miss more than two hours of the entire program will not be eligible to receive the certificate. Participants who fulfill the attendance requirement will receive a certificate at the end of the program.

For multi-week, live online programs with five or more sessions, one missed live session can be made up by listening to the session recording in full. Participants who miss more than one live session will not be eligible to receive the certificate. To be marked complete for that one session, please email [email protected]. For programs with four or fewer sessions, attendance at all live sessions is required to receive a certificate. All sessions will be recorded and available for participants to review throughout the program for your reference.

ATD requires active participation throughout the program to receive credit. Active participation in live online sessions includes, but is not limited to, participating in virtual classroom activities, discussions, breakout sessions, and intersession work. Please note that using a tablet or mobile device significantly limits your ability to fully and actively participate.

If you meet the eligibility requirements, a certificate will be issued to you through the ATD Learning Platform at the end of the program.
