ATD Education works with more than 100 of the world’s best facilitators to deliver our talent development programs. ATD’s facilitators are seasoned practitioners with 10 years or more of experience in their content areas. They draw upon their professional accomplishments and career experiences to deliver personalized learning and valuable insights. You’ll find that many of our facilitators are published authors or popular speakers in their fields of expertise, and they come from a wide range of industries and sectors. Carla Torgerson has more than 15 years of experience as an instructional designer and instructional strategist. Always interested in the latest learning trends, she has authored numerous blogs and articles on a variety of topics, including eLearning, mobile learning, and microlearning. She also developed MILE, the MIcroLEarning Design Model© and is the author of the book The Microlearning Guide to Microlearning.

Carla has consulted with numerous Fortune 500 clients including McDonald’s, Netflix, Facebook, Twitter, Adobe, Express, Kellogg’s, University of Phoenix, Fidelity, Cargill, Medtronic, Merck, and Best Western. She has designed solutions ranging from $15,000 to more than $2 million.

Carla is currently Director of Instructional Design at Bull City Learning, a specialized eLearning agency that provides digital learning solutions for companies in a wide range of industries, as well as non-profit organizations. Bull City Learning offers a full suite of solutions including learning needs assessments, curriculum design, content development, and training deployment support.

Carla has a Master of Education (MEd) focused on technology-based education. She also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA), which helps her to see training through a business lens. She loves to travel and explore the country with her awesome husband, Tom, and their very curious six-year-old son, John.

Her expertise is drawn from a combination of first-hand management experience, doctoral-level education, and many years training managers and executives, both within organizations and as a consultant to them. Jennie is also an active speaker and author. She regularly presents at professional conferences (ILA, ATD, AOM, SHRM, HCI, etc.). Her publications are featured in Journal of Management Education, Advances in Global Leadership, HR People & Strategy Journal, MBA Women's Guide to Success, Inside HR magazine, SHRM's award-winning blog We Know Next, the Palgrave Handbook of Experiential Learning in International Education. She also co-wrote the book "Developing Your Global Mindset: The Handbook for Successful Global Leaders."

She currently serves as lead faculty for graduate degree programs in leadership at Forbes School of Business at Ashford University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, watching films and writing.

Darryl Wyles is an internal ATD Facilitator.  He brings over 20 years of experience in talent development where he has played major roles in transforming learning programs as a manager and specialist for large and small organizations in government and the financial services industry.  

Darryl enjoys the challenge of building organizational end to end training solutions from the ground up and is passionate about providing a fun and interactive learning environment in his workshops.  He has facilitated and designed software, leadership and soft skill training solutions that supported major change initiatives at SunTrust Bank, and Chevy Chase/Capital One Bank.

Prior to his current role, Darryl was the Training and Development Manager for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Department of Parks and Recreation where he spearheaded the creation of Parks and Recreation University, the department’s first structured training and development program.   Parks and Recreation University introduced a wide variety of leadership and skill development learning programming that enhanced workforce proficiencies and expertise. 

Darryl has a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies- Sports Management from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

Beth Yoder has been facilitating learning and development globally for both individuals and organizations for almost 20 years.  She is the Managing Partner for Global Teams – UAE and has been based in Dubai for the last seven years.  She trains across Europe and the Middle East, as well as in West Africa, and the United States.  Originally born in the United States Beth has lived in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Romania, and Austria. Her clients are equally diverse, coming from all sectors and regions such as Al-Futtaim, Kuwait Oil Company, and UAE Higher Colleges of Technology, as well as global, such as Ernst & Young, Siemens, and World Vision.  Beth draws on this broad experience, and her Master’s degree in Intercultural Relations from the University of the Pacific, when designing training or facilitating for multiple cultures. She leverages her global experience to design creative and effective solutions when consulting with organizations on their diversity and inclusion or global learning programs.  Her passion is to develop local talent to succeed in the global arena.  Participants walk away empowered, inspired and equipped.  To quote one participant, “I started using it as soon as I walked out of the room.”
