Technical Issues? Here Are Solutions

The Association for Talent Development’s Virtual Conference is starting. This will be a new experience for most, if not all, registrants. And with that, you may encounter some technical issues. Here are some tips to keep in mind as you attend live sessions, watch on-demand sessions, and network virtually this week.

Use a current browser. Everything is built into the virtual platform in HTML5 so there are no plug-ins or add-ons you need. As long as you are using a current browser you should have no problem viewing the Virtual Conference site and sessions. If you are having difficulties, first update your browser.

Press play. For on-demand content, the video player is embedded into the website, so you simply need to press play to start any video.

Join live sessions up to 10 minutes early. For keynote presentations, plan to join up to 10 minutes ahead of the session start time. For other live sessions, you can access a few minutes early to start asking questions; sessions will start promptly.

Install software for easier use. For the roundtables networking feature, there are integrations with Zoom and Microsoft Teams to enable you to participate via video. You should be able to run either in a web browser, so there is no need to download the software. That said, you do need to have an account. Having the software installed on your computer or device in advance of participating will likewise make it easier for you to use all of the technical features.

Ask for help. We’re here to help. If you encounter a technical issue and need assistance (such as with logging in, a video player, or system functionality), simply click the Help button in the bottom corner of the platform to submit your issue. A technical team member will respond to you as quickly as possible.
