As we wind down the celebration of ATD’s 75th anniversary, we want to take one final look back at the trends and challenges that have appeared on the pages of TD magazine and the earlier versions of the publication, including this article from the March 1973 issue of the Training and Development Journal. “‘Accountability’ Seen As Management Problem in 80’s” looked ahead to the 1980s and compared the roles of managers in the public and private sectors in terms of their customers’ expectations, the application of behavioral sciences, and globalization’s impact.
