Ron is the manager of five engineers in the middle of one of the company's most revenue-generating projects in the firm's history. Unexpectedly, Mark—one of Ron's top engineers, a high-potential employee with an uncommon skill set that makes finding a replacement for him difficult—has to take an indefinite leave of absence at the most crucial moment of the project. This company has been involved in so many projects at the same time that it has not spent time on succession planning.
