A recent Google search of the terms "leadership tools and techniques" resulted in 2 million hits. Yet, despite all these management tools, the world does not seem much more successful. Business bankruptcy rates are at a five-year high according to an Automated Access to Court Electronic Records report. And only 32 percent of IT projects in 2009 were completed successfully, according to a Standish CHAOS survey. Why is leadership failing on so many different fronts?
