The responsibilities of building and running a corporate university or learning program often fall on the shoulders of an already overstrained HR and talent function, for which small teams (or even single individuals) manage recruiting, hiring, performance, succession planning, diversity and inclusion, and policy issues. The ever-flowing torrent of advice on conceptualizing and building a corporate university can make the notion daunting and complicated, and such advice is rarely tested or one-size-fits-all. After years of building several highly successful programs, often against insurmountable odds, I've learned that some of the best strategies for building a thriving learning ecosystem come not from groundbreaking approaches but from the most enduring wisdoms.
