Must-Have Apps for Small Business Owners

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

For business owners with little time to devote to administrative tasks, the following web-based applications can keep your company operations running efficiently.

Kashoo. This app offers simple accounting from the Cloud. The name Kashoo was coined from the business phrase "making your nut" to illustrate what's on every small business owner's mind: Is the money coming in more than the money going out? Access Kashoo from a web browser or mobile device, and ensure you are "making your nut" each month.

MindMeister. An online collaboration solution, MindMeister facilitates multi-user planning, brainstorming, and project management sessions within a standard web browser. Distribute new ideas by sending peers a secure link to your mind mapping creation, or launch a thinking session using the app's live chat feature.

CanGrade. According to this product's website, CanGrade creators "researched over 200,000 employees from over 500 companies and developed a breakthrough platform that automates hiring and predicts employee success." Use this simple hiring app to gauge the fit between prospective employees, job requirements, and the organization's culture.

Memonic. Described as the "best web clipper in town," Memonic allows users to clip content, save webpages to read later, or take a note. Share notes with colleagues, view employee updates, and see what's trending on a live dashboard.
