Magalie René, CEO of training firm Workplace Catalyst, offers her expertise on leading with compassion in this 10-part career and workplace mini-series on YouTube. She discusses why the C-word—compassion—is such a critical addition to workflows and management styles in today's society.
René uses The "C" Word to clear up misconceptions about what being compassionate means. It does not mean accepting mediocrity or giving in to entitlement. Instead, it's a way for those in leadership positions to show they care and increase employee engagement.
"Leaders who want to take their work culture to the next level will want to embrace the C-word because the future of work is compassionate," René explains.
By shifting to a more compassionate form of leadership, both managers and employees benefit, she says, because doing so enables leaders to look honestly at how their leadership affects the work environment.
Episode topics range from "The Secret of World Class Leaders" and "Communication Hacks to Lead with Compassion" to "The Myth of Safe Spaces" and "Unshakeable Self Worth." View the trailer at youtu.be/mPMiZ-oSkuA.
