Hearing loss is the United States’ third largest public health issue after heart disease and arthritis, and noise-induced hearing loss is among the top disabilities incurred by U.S. military personnel. Although approximately one in five Americans has a hearing loss, and that number is growing, the needs of learners with hearing loss often are invisible in training settings.
