Greener Transport Mitigates Climate Change

The emission of greenhouse gasses is considered by most scientists to be a major cause of observed climate change. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), 28 percent of all GHG emissions in the United States came from transportation uses in 2006, 97 percent of which was from the combustion of fossil fuels. Creation of the fuel and the manufacturing of the vehicles add additional GHGs to thelife cycle calculations for transportation.
