An executive order recently signed by President Obama will, in a year's time, make it easier for federal workers and retirees to donate to the Combined Federal Campaign and volunteer with charitable organizations.

The executive order gave the Office of Personnel Management the power to lead the CFC, the federal government's official workplace giving program. As a result, OPM plans to make two changes to the program, to take effect in September 2017:
