Flipping Training

Many people who work in training and development have prided themselves on the ability to do in a short amount of time what higher education does in the long term with more relevance, applicability, and transfer. Unfortunately, trainers are often faced with a greater need to account for the time employees spend away from work. We often get less time in training sessions to cover the necessities that ensure a positive transfer. The answer is to utilize time and space as efficiently as possible and to use technology to our advantage—not necessarily by using online webinars. Rather, we should look at flipping the training model for a more positive transfer approach.
