Human Resources Golf

When evaluating our organizations, we can have a bit of fun by creating a human resource golf scorecard.

Evaluation of human resource operations can be fun when combined with a game such as golf. When evaluating human resources operations, we can identify at least nine functions that it takes to play the game—in this case a nine-hole course. These could include human resource strategy, laws and regulations, job or work analysis, recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation and benefits, occupational safety, organizational development and career management, and labor relations. At each hole, we can identify the strokes necessary to reach the flag. Each time we take a stroke, we can identify various hazards that might occur along the way.
