Onboarding, if done right, can help retain talent and create a great first impression of your company. Over the past six years, I have designed and managed six-week-long bootcamps for employees straight out of college, as well as new employees with some work experience who join our financial services domain based IT company. I’d like to share with you some onboarding tips that have worked for me and my team of trainers. Every class composition is unique in experience or previous exposure. Read employees’ profiles, and be prepared to tweak your sessions as you learn more about people. Do not go wholly by the profile shared by HR. Probing deeper will reveal existing skill sets. More experienced trainees can be nominated as buddies to partner with the totally uninitiated. In many cases this association continues long after the formal training
