The relationship between internal consultants and customers resembles a dance. Each party has some expectations. There is usually someone in the lead and someone who follows. There is a rhythm and series of steps that are a part of that dance. If either party gets out of step, it could result in a trip, fall, or at least getting stepped on, all of which can be unpleasant. At times, we all play the role of internal consultant, so why not improve our dancing skills?
