Despite trends that seem to make email passé, it remains the principal source of office communication and makes huge demands on our time. For now—for better or worse—it is not getting replaced by Twitter or texting. Email for all its limitations, lets the correspondent document thoughts and convey messages at length. It’s also instant yet recognized as equivalent to paper communication.
